Paris: January 12, 2022: Team Vitality embarks on the Open Tour France 2022 adventure in partnership with adidas and presents its semi-pro team “Yellow Stripes”. The roster is composed of some of the most promising young French players on the amateur League of Legends circuit. The new team will benefit from the same personnel and performance infrastructure as Team Vitality’s professional athletes who compete at the highest European and global levels. As the main sponsor of the Yellow Stripes for 2022, adidas will provide full support to the team. adidas has designed a custom jersey and will provide the team with a professional athlete who will act as a mentor to accompany them throughout the year, provide advice and provide all the experience a young team needs to get started.

“We are proud to invest resources in the amateur scene. This project is a unique opportunity for these young players to learn and grow in what we hope will be a great esports career in the future. A big challenge awaits them, but we have the ambition to get them to the Open Tour finals.” said Fabien “Neo” Devide, Co-Founder and Esports Director, Team Vitality. “We are delighted to have a partner like adidas who is not only interested in representing their brand on the biggest stages of esports, but who is committed to helping develop and support the pros of tomorrow.”
“True to our belief that sport gives us the power to change lives, we are very proud to be part of this adventure. adidas supports all athletes who want to make a difference in the way they play, whatever their sport. Launching the ‘Yellow Stripes’ initiative with Team Vitality is rooted in our brand DNA and how we want to challenge the codes of the sports industry,” said Sylvain Bouches, VP Brand Director for adidas France.
Yellow Stripes is the latest collaboration between Team Vitality and adidas, in one of the longest-running partnerships in esports. adidas was the first sportswear supplier to enter the French esports market with Team Vitality in 2017. Together, they created the first-ever esports sneaker, the VIT.01 , which sold out worldwide within a week, and designed and developed an esports jersey for the first time. To capture and reveal the progress of the Yellow Stripes, Team Vitality and adidas will produce an eight-part documentary series following the team’s progression through the Open Tour France.
