Team Vitality has reached a historic milestone in the fighting game community (FGC). At EVO France in Nice, the organization’s South Korean player Jeondding claimed his first-ever EVO title in Tekken 8, securing Team Vitality’s first victory at one of the most iconic tournaments on the global fighting game circuit. The win marks a major career milestone for Jeondding, who finally lifts a trophy of this magnitude.
After years competing at the highest level and numerous attempts to secure a major title, Jeondding has finally seen his hard work pay off. This victory caps a journey defined by perseverance, dedication and an unwavering determination to establish himself among the world’s best players.
A dominant run to the title
Having finished runner-up at the previous edition of EVO France in Nice, Jeondding returned this year with one clear objective: to claim the title. Armed with an even sharper version of his Eddy, he delivered a standout performance throughout the tournament, winning every match on his way to the Grand Final without dropping into the Losers Bracket.
Along the way, the Team Vitality player faced several of the biggest names on the Tekken scene. Throughout these high-stakes matchups, Jeondding showcased his technical expertise, game knowledge and ability to perform under pressure.
Signed by Team Vitality in 2024 on a contract running through 2030, Jeondding has now secured his place in the organization’s history. Beyond recognizing the achievements of an exceptional player, this first EVO title also underscores Team Vitality’s ambitions on the international fighting game stage.
Team Vitality brings a strong FGC presence to EVO France
Beyond this historic victory, this year’s event highlights Team Vitality’s continued commitment to the fighting game community (FGC). The organization fielded six players across two major titles: Jeondding, Neia and KingReyJr in Tekken 8, alongside Fenritti, H-DOPE and K-TOP in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
The roster delivered several notable performances. In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, H-DOPE secured a Top 5–6 finish, while Fenritti placed 7th–8th and CientifiKOF finished 13th–16th. K-TOP also secured a 17th–24th-place finish. In Tekken 8, rising star Neia finished 17th–24th, achieving back-to-back results in that placement range, while KingReyJr placed 65th, alongside Jeondding’s historic title win.
These results highlight Team Vitality’s presence across multiple fighting game titles and the depth of talent within its FGC division. With its first-ever EVO title, the organization reaches a significant milestone and reinforces its international ambitions in fighting games, while continuing to support the players and communities that drive the scene forward.
“This victory is a tremendous source of pride for Team Vitality. It rewards years of hard work and perseverance from Jeondding and marks an important milestone in our organization’s history. EVO is a landmark event on the fighting game calendar, and winning this title in France makes the achievement all the more special. We are also proud to see our FGC division competing at a high level across multiple titles. We want to continue building on this momentum alongside our players and the wider community,” said Danny Engels, Chief International Officer at Team Vitality.
