zonic and Lars reinforce MaT and Matthieu in the staff of the most ambitious CS: GO team in the world.
Following the announcement of its new CS:GO roster, Team Vitality unveils its coaching staff, which aims to provide all the conditions required for a world class performance. By associating recognized Danish and French talents to accompany the new international dimension and the sporting ambition of the project, Team Vitality chooses complementarity in continuity.
The most successful coach in Counter Strike history joins Team Vitality as Head Coach. Danny “zonic” Sørensen is a 35 year old dane who has been playing on the Counter Strike circuit for many years. He started out as a player, but it was as a coach that his talent exploded in the eyes of the world, particularly following his 4 victories in Major tournaments with Astralis.
zonic is recognized as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game, is in the Hall of Fame in Denmark and had been elected coach of the year in 2019 and 2020 by his peers.
His experience and pedagogy will be key in developing the emerging CS: GO team spirit at Team Vitality.
Team Vitality aims to be one of the most serious contenders for the Major over the next three years. The organisation is putting its athletes in the best conditions by recruiting Lars Robl, performance manager and sports psychologist. Lars spent over 20 years working for the Danish Special Forces before moving on to a career as a sports psychologist, during which time he accompanied canoeing athletes to the Olympics and esports athletes to the CS:GO Major.
This performance professional maintains a trusting relationship with the team in order to reveal its full potential. Lars has demonstrated the extent of his talent with Astralis for 4 years and has accompanied the Danish team to the top of Counter Strike.
Mathieu “Mat” Leber remains on the Team Vitality staff. An experienced former player and assistant coach, he has proven to be a valuable asset in the recent success of the CS: GO team. Mathieu will assist Zonic in athlete development and team building.
The CS: GO team will always be accompanied by Matthieu Péché, Team Vitality’s team manager. The Olympic medallist has been accompanying the Counter Strike athletes since 2019 and brings all his experience as a former professional sportsman.
