As we work hard to prepare for the 2023 VCT season, we want to take a moment to close Team Vitality's VRL chapter. With 3 of our players coming to an end, let's look back at what we've accomplished together. NatanK BaddyG H1ber
They all joined Team Vitality in May 2022 after an unsatisfactory Stage 1 where we failed to qualify for the playoffs. After a difficult 1-3 start in the first 2 weeks, it was becoming clear that the new arrivals had raised our level and with only one loss in the last 14 games, we secured our playoff spot with a magnificent 14-4 scoreline.
We started the playoffs in the semi-finals against our French rivals Karmine Corp! It was of course not an easy match but we arrived full of confidence thanks to our regular season. The match was high-flying and was played in 5 maps with an excellent H1ber, giving us a 3-2 victory and a ticket to the final against Mad Lions.
After a tight match in the semi-finals, we were unstoppable once in the final and the match was clearly not as close as the previous one. After an Overtime won on the first Breeze map, we never let up the pace and thus won the title of VRL France Champions with a 3-0 victory!
We qualified for the VRL Regional Finals thanks to our victory on the French circuit. We met the best teams in Europe, ready to give their all, motivated by our Valorant anthem .
Our level and that of our opponents improved significantly and we managed to reach the playoffs with only one defeat on the clock. We managed to stay in the Upper Bracket, inflicting a 2-0 on FUT and defeating CASE esports (seed 1 of our group) by a score of 2-1.
We found FUT esports in the grand finals, after beating them 2-0 in the Upper Bracket.
We fought tooth and nail, with every map being of a rare intensity. After leading the match 2-0, our team found itself exhausted, suffering a reverse sweep that led us to settle for second place. It still concluded a successful season littered with memorable performances, a team that will remain in Team Vitality history forever.
