The traditional HLTV Awards ceremony took place this Saturday, January 13 in Serbia. During this event rewarding Counter-Strike legends, Team Vitality and its players distinguished themselves by receiving several awards for their exceptional performances during the year 2023.
The organization was crowned Team of the Year 2023, ahead of clubs G2 and FaZe, thanks to its historic 2023 run. Throughout the year, the team also managed to show its incredible solidity despite the various changes and departures made within its roster. Thus, Team Vitality ends the year in the first class of the world rankings.
ZywOo voted best player in the world for the third time
First, it was Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut who created a sensation by winning three HTLV Awards. First, the Lens player won the AWPer of the Year and Highlight of the Year awards. And finally, he received the coveted “Player of the Year” title, for the third time in his very young career (2019, 2020, 2023), a record.

apEX crowned best In-Game Leader
French captain Dan “apEX” Madesclaire also receives a magnificent distinction for the key role he played throughout 2023 within his roster. In his fourth year in this position, apEX has created the legend around this Counter-Strike team.
This year 2023 will have been the year of the coronation for Team Vitality, but especially for its prodigious player ZywOo. He and his team managed to obtain five major trophies of the circuit, including that of the IEM of Rio (April), the BLAST Major of Paris (May), the Gamers8 (August), the BLAST Fall Finals (November), and the BLAST World Final (December). And as if that was never enough, ZywOo also won five MVP titles during these tournaments.
The team is fully ready to face 2024. Next stop: Katowice!
