TEAM VITALITY WINS RLCS SPRING SPLIT MAJOR IN BOSTON

After winning the Spring Open, Spring Cup, and Spring Invitational, our young Rocket League team won the RLCS 2022-23 Spring Split Major in Boston. A perfect Spring Split for our 3 players: Alpha54 , Zen , and Radosin , who were attending their very first Major together. This is the first time in the history of the game that a team has achieved the perfect Split, that is, winning 3 regionals and the Major.

A memorable journey from the lower bracket

This fantastic journey began with two victories, on July 6, against the American teams of Elevate, then Complexity. This good start automatically qualifies us for the upper bracket, without having to play again the next day.

And that's where things get complicated, during the first public match, on July 8. For the first scene of our young prodigy Zen in the semi-final of the upper bracket, our team loses to a BDS team in great shape. This defeat, which sends us straight to the lower bracket, is only the second on the split. But not enough to demobilize our young players: against GenG, they win 4-0 and qualify for the rest of the competition.

Then, Championship Sunday smiled on us. Despite an attractive Rule One team, our team made short work of it, with a 4-0 victory. The team also achieved the overtime record in LAN Rocket League against their opponents in game 3 with +12:02 (or 17min02 per match). For his first meeting with the other Rocket League prodigy, RW9, Zen therefore won without trembling.

In the lower bracket finals, Team Vitality faces their rivals from KCorp. In a very tight duel that ends in overtime in game 7, Team Vitality scores 3 goals in 2 minutes. Just enough to qualify us for the grand finals against BDS!

Exhausted but determined, our players and their coach Ferra embark on the race for the bracket reset. In two BO7s, Team Vitality manages to maintain its leadership status by winning 4-2, then 4-1. Thus, they achieve the feat of the perfect split for their very first Major.

The split of all records

In just two months, our Rocket League team has managed to make history: they are the first team to achieve the perfect split. With an immense captain Alpha54 and a fiery Radosin, we have had a magnificent spring season. But it is Zen who stands out and leaves with the Major MVP and Offensive MVP trophies. Great recognitions that reward efforts and an incredible performance on the server. Another notable distinction: our incredible coach Ferra becomes the first actor on the scene to win a Major as a player and as a coach.

In total, Team Vitality has now accumulated enough points to qualify directly for the Worlds Main Event next August.

Witnessing the spectacle offered by this Major, the RLCS Spring Split Major 2023 became the second most-watched Rocket League event with a peak audience of 323,000 viewers and an average of 133,212 viewers ( according to Esports Charts ).
