Kare

Team Vitality recognizes the importance of mental health in esports and gaming.

We are deeply committed to fostering a culture of support for our employees , athletes , fans , and anyone else in the esports ecosystem who is struggling with issues such as depression, burnout, anxiety, and other mental health-related concerns.

Awareness , prevention and action are key elements of our mission to make mental health an integral part of the esports and gaming ecosystem.

The KARE Series are video capsules highlighting our players , coaches , managers and staff members. During these powerful and personal testimonies, they reveal experiences that have had an impact on their own mental health or that of those close to them.

How these events occur, how to experience them, how to overcome them, how to support loved ones going through them...

Our goal through this series of videos is to demonstrate a less visible side of the reality of esports, that of humans who go through complex periods in terms of mental health; just like their fans, just like children playing video games or even like their parents,

OUR COMMITMENT

Encourage dialogue and raise awareness.

KARE aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and open discussion on this crucial topic.

We want to show the industry that high-level athletes can also suffer from mental health issues and that it is healthy to talk about them openly.

We are currently working on a series of KARE videos where our players , coaches , staff and managers speak openly about their own experiences with mental health, in order to destigmatize the conversation and encourage those currently facing similar situations to seek appropriate help.

The first episode will be posted online soon.

Support the Twisten Foundation

KARE is a project launched by Team Vitality.
As an esports organization, we are not experts on mental health issues and how to address them. However, we understand the importance of this topic and seek to support organizations like the Twisten Foundation to support our industry, our fans , and the entire ecosystem.

The name KARE honors Karel aka “ Twisten ”, a Team Vitality player on Team VCT, who tragically took his own life after suffering from depression for several years. His death came as a deep shock to the entire esports industry, as well as to all members of Team Vitality.

Karel's family established the Twisten Foundation on December 4, 2023, Twisten's birthday.

The foundation wants to help teenagers who find themselves in situations similar to that of Karel Ašenbrener, suffering from mental health problems.

KARE will fully support the Twisten Foundation by spreading its messages , supporting its charitable efforts , and helping to fund its important work.

Through this collaboration, KARE also wants to convey a message of hope to anyone in distress: you are not alone . The Twisten Foundation, like hundreds of other organizations, resources and emergency numbers, exist to provide help and assistance.

The Twisten Foundation

The Twisten Foundation pays tribute to Karel "Twisten" Ašenbrener, who suffered from depression for several years.

Engaging the community in positive actions

KARE aims to encourage its audience to take concrete and positive actions for their own mental health and that of others.

We believe that players , coaches , managers , staff , fans and families can be both beneficiaries and initiators of actions aimed at improving their mental health.

KARE will deliver messages from professionals through educational content and aims to take the lead in changing the esports ecosystem. All of this will aim to create a healthier environment for everyone involved.

We will work closely with organizations and foundations to raise funds through charitable actions initiated by KARE or other organizations.
