In another historic achievement, Frenchman Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut won his 22nd MVP award, surpassing Ukrainian legend s1mple. True to his nickname "The Chosen One," he continues to make history as a member of Team Vitality.
The Counter-Strike team of Team Vitality, an internationally renowned esports club, was crowned champion of the ESL Pro League Season 21 in Stockholm. Led by Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, who was named MVP, the team delivered another exceptional performance in the Grand Finals against MOUZ, with a score of 3-0.
This latest international victory confirms Team Vitality's excellent momentum since the beginning of 2025. After winning a historic title at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice, the team once again demonstrates its dominance on the CS2 scene. Special mention goes to Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, who once again dazzled with his talent and became the player with the most MVPs on the scene. He solidified his status as the best player in the world thanks to a series of decisive performances throughout the tournament. BACK MORE POWERFUL THAN EVER
Throughout the tournament, the roster put together a string of exceptional performances against the world's best teams to claim yet another prestigious title. Throughout the group stage and playoffs, Team Vitality enjoyed a near-perfect run, winning nine consecutive matches and dropping only one map—a stunning demonstration of their superiority.
In the quarterfinals, Team Vitality faced a formidable opponent, Team Liquid. But the Bees delivered a masterful performance, winning 2-0 with back-to-back 13-9 victories over Anubis and Dust II. 2025 recruit Robin "ropz" Kool shone with 46 eliminations and a kill/death differential of +21, playing a key role in the team's qualification.
In the semifinals against The MongolZ, Team Vitality opened with a resounding 13-4 victory over Anubis, before narrowly falling 14-16 to Nuke. But the team remained unshaken and closed the match with a 13-2 show of strength over Inferno. Shahar "flameZ" Shushan was imperious with a kill/death differential of +26, while Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut added +24 kills/deaths to their collective firepower.
In the Grand Final against MOUZ, Team Vitality achieved a resounding victory with a final score of 3-0, highlighting its sharp strategy and the individual talent of its players.
A TITLE THAT BRINGS TEAM VITALITY CLOSER TO THE PEAKS
Team Vitality's victory at ESL Pro League Season 21 marks a significant moment in the club's history, adding to their triumph at IEM Katowice earlier this year. Not only does this add another prestigious trophy to their list of achievements, but it also brings Team Vitality one step closer to the Intel Grand Slam Season 5. With this, the team earns 150,000 Club Reward points and strengthens their position in the race for the Intel Grand Slam later this year.
This second major international title of the year positions Team Vitality as the dominant club on the Counter-Strike 2 scene in 2025.
