Team Vitality, a leading esports club in France and Europe, has just won its second Rocket League World Championship. This title adds to the perfect split already achieved by the team, winning the three regionals and the Major of the spring split in Boston. The advent of a historic season for the club's 10th anniversary: this is the first time that a team has managed to win a perfect split and a world championship.
A CLEAR ROUTE TO VICTORY
Team Vitality started the qualifying stages directly in the Main Event (Group Stage) of the championship. The roster composed of the French Yanis “Alpha54” Champenois (captain), Andrea “Radosin” Radovanović, and Alexis “zen” Bernier, managed to confirm their leadership status by holding their own against Moist Esports and Spacestation Gaming in the group stage.
Qualified in the playoffs, the team was able to gain momentum throughout the BO against the Saudi team Team Falcons. Against the last representative of the MENA region, Radosin showed a decisive game on the field. It was from the semi-final against Karmine Corp that the level went up a notch. Despite a hesitant start, the players once again found in Radosin an exceptional mental strength, allowing his teammates to shine.
In the tournament final, Team Vitality managed to win against BDS after a wild BO7. Team Vitality is enjoying international glory again after winning the world championships for the first time in 2019 with players Kaydop, FairyPeak and Scrub Killa. This consecration was made in front of a hundred fiery Golden Hornets and tens of thousands of spectators present at the PSD Bank Dome.
“What a magnificent journey! I am incredibly proud of this team. They have shown their determination and superiority in the most important meeting of the season. They have already written a new page in the history of the game and our club in just three months. It is just incredible. As a club, this is exactly the kind of moment we fight for every day. And then to lift two major trophies in our 10th anniversary year, we couldn't have dreamed of anything better!” says Fabien 'Neo' Devide, President and co-founder of Team Vitality
