Team Vitality continues its dominant streak, after defeating FaZe Clan at the BLAST Premier: World Final 2023. In a rematch of the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals earlier this year, the French club swept the competition to end the year as the best team in Counter-Strike esports.

A crushing victory for the bees

The Grand Final kicked off on Inferno as Team Vitality pulled out ahead in the early rounds. While FaZe Clan fought hard to regain the advantage it was Team Vitality that dominated the first map to take it 13-5. On the second map, FaZe Clan came back strong as they took the early lead, however, Team Vitality made an unstoppable comeback to equalise the scoreboard before taking the final map 13-7 and securing victory in the Grand Finals.

During the finals series, the key player who stood out amongst the rest was Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut who was crowned MVP for his efforts during the tournament.

This was the second outing of Team Vitality’s 2024 roster following their success in the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals. Featuring the new additions of William “mezii” Merriman and the return of coach Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam the team has ended its historic year in dominant form.

Fifth major trophy of the year

This year alone the organisation has won Intel Extreme Masters Rio, BLAST.tv Paris Major, Gamers8, BLAST Fall Finals, and now World Finals in both Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2 respectively.

Team Vitality’s historic success in Counter-Strike is reflective of its most successful year to date as an organisation, having seen exceptional success in Rocket League and taking home the coveted Esports Organisation of the Year at the Esports Awards.
