The prestigious HLTV Awards ceremony took place in Serbia on Saturday 13 January. Team Vitality and its players stood out from the crowd at this event honoring the legends of Counter-Strike, receiving several awards for their outstanding performances in 2023.
The organisation was crowned 2023 Team of the Year, ahead of clubs G2 and FaZe, thanks to its historic 2023 run. Throughout the year, the team also managed to show incredible consistency despite the various changes and departures within its roster. As a result, Team Vitality finished the year in first place in the HLTV world rankings.
ZywOo became best player in the world for the third time
First it was Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut who caused a sensation by winning three HTLV Awards. Firstly, the player from Lens won the AWPer of the Year and Highlight of the Year awards. And finally, he was awarded the coveted title of ‘Player of the Year’ for a record third time in his very young career (2019, 2020, 2023).

apEX crowned best In-Game Leader
French captain Dan ‘apEX’ Madesclaire also received a magnificent distinction for the key role he played throughout 2023 within his roster. In his fourth year in this position, apEX has created a legend around this Counter-Strike team.
The year 2023 will have been one of triumph for Team Vitality, but especially for its prodigy player ZywOo. He and his team won five major trophies on the circuit, including IEM Rio (April), the BLAST Major in Paris (May), Gamers8 (August), the BLAST Fall Finals (November) and the BLAST World Final (December). If that wasn’t enough, ZywOo also won five MVP titles at these tournaments.
The team is so ready for 2024.
