• After a brilliant run throughout the tournament, the French team saw a decisive 4-0 victory against Team BDS in the electrifying final of the Rocket League World Championships.
  • Since the arrival of player Alexis “Zen” Bernier in the roster last May, the team has put together an unprecedented run of victories, and haven’t lost a tournament yet.
  • Team Vitality wins the second Rocket League World Championship title in its history (2019, 2023), its 33rd major title since its induction in 2013.

Team Vitality, the leading esport club in France and Europe, has just won its second Rocket League World Championship. This title comes on top of the perfect split the team has already achieved, winning all three regionals and the Spring Split Major in Boston. The advent of a historic season for the club’s 10th anniversary: it’s the first time a team has managed to win a perfect split and a world championship.

A CLEAR PATH TO VICTORY

Team Vitality started the qualifying stages directly in the Main Event (Group Stage) of the championship. The roster, made up of Frenchmen Yanis “Alpha54” Champenois (captain), Andrea “Radosin” Radovanović, and Alexis “zen” Bernier, managed to confirm their status as leaders by holding off Moist Esports and Spacestation Gaming in the group stage.

Having qualified for the play-offs, the team gained momentum throughout the match against Team Falcons. Facing the final representative of the MENA region, Radosin showcased his decisive playstyle on the pitch. During the semi-final against Karmine Corp, the stakes were high. Despite a hesitant start, the players looked to Radosin for his incredible mental fortitude, allowing his teammates to shine.

In the tournament finale Team Vitality managed to win against Team BDS after a furious BO7 match. Team Vitality is back to international glory after winning the world championships for the first time in 2019 with players Kaydop, FairyPeak and Scrub Killa. This glorious victory was made in front of a hundred fiery Golden Hornets and ten thousand spectators present at the PSD Bank Dome.

What a magnificent journey! I’m incredibly proud of this team. They showed their determination and superiority in the most important match of the season. They’ve already written a new page in the history of the game and our club in just three months. It’s just incredible. As a club, it’s exactly this kind of moment that we fight for every day. And then to lift two major trophies in our 10th anniversary year, we couldn’t have asked for anything better!” says Fabien ‘Neo’ Devide, President and co-founder of Team Vitality.

A YOUNG ROSTER SHAKING UP THE ESTABLISHED ORDER

This incredible rise was also achieved and led by coach Victor ‘Ferra’ Francal. He is the first former Rocket League player to win a Major as both player and coach, as well as a World Championship title. The team’s Team Manager, Gauthier Klauss – Olympic champion in canoeing at the 2016 Summer Olympics – has also been instrumental in maintaining the team’s consistency throughout the Rocket League tournaments.

Team Vitality was thrust to the forefront of the Rocket League scene after the official arrival of zen last May. It was an incredible end to the year for the team, which won 5 of the 5 tournaments it played. Thanks to this collective effort, characterized by fluid communication and increasingly refined strategies, the team now has a total of 27 wins and 2 losses in competitive matches (93.1% win rate).

V FOR HISTORY: TEAM VITALITY SHAPES ITS LEGACY
